
Markus Klemmer
Mr. Markus Klemmer is an accomplished environmental engineer with extensive expertise in project management and coordination, particularly in waste management and sustainable infrastructure. Educated in Landscape and Open Space Planning in Germany, Mr. Klemmer launched his career with Dr. Born Dr. Ermel GmbH, a prominent engineering consultancy. Over his 14-year tenure, he advanced from project engineer to project manager, ultimately serving as the Head of the Hong Kong branch office for more than eight years. In this role, he led large-scale projects, including wastewater treatment plants and thermal sewage sludge treatment facilities, across Germany and the Asia-Pacific region.
In 2022, Mr. Klemmer transitioned to a new role in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, joining Planetzero.earth. Here, he focuses on decarbonization and carbon sequestration projects, driving initiatives that help businesses become more sustainable by effectively reducing atmospheric carbon. He is actively involved in professional networks, including the German Project Management Association (GPM), where he continues to contribute to the field of environmental engineering. His professional dedication is complemented by a passion for underwater photography and environmental conservation. Fluent in German and English, with knowledge of Cantonese and Mandarin, Mr. Klemmer is now also learning Vietnamese, reflecting his deep engagement with the Asia-Pacific region.
